Pressing Alt key on your keyboard and the numbers, you can get the special characters.
If you are using laptop, you have to press your Fn key in order to input the numbers.
I am sure everyone knows about this.

Alt+0176 - ° (Degree sign)
Alt+0188 - ¼
Alt+0189 - ½
Alt+0190 - ¾
Alt+0222 - Þ (Eg. Instead of =P, you can use =Þ )
Alt+0223 - ß (Eszet, sharp S, not beta)

Alt+0174 - ®
Alt+0178 - ² (Square)
Alt+0179 - ³ (Cube)

Ben told me 7 out of the 11 I listed, his memory bank darn huge la. I think mine is only 1/4 of his. He can even remember what competition he took part in during PRIMARY SCHOOL!! Powerful memory bank. HAHA!!
