As Christmas is over, a new year is coming. Look on the bright side is just what I wanna do for the new year. Nothing else. That's Law of Attraction! (:
Time flies, memories worth reminiscing and some otherwise. I guess NS changed my perspective a lot, I think it does to most people. You realize not everyone is nice around you. Some things may not turn out as you expected to be. Like, I always thought being an IC is something fun and challenging to take on. However, I am eating my words now. I was appointed (unexpectedly) to be the IC of a group at my induction programme. NOT FUN, and it's STRESSFUL. Haha, but it's still good experience. Two more days!
At this period last year, I guess it was the most memorable. Christmas, first time I dealt with live Pine trees, and doing decorations that I never thought I will be touching in my life. I somehow miss the hectic times that I once went through during my IAP. Rushing for Christmas décor, and staying up late to rush for the deadlines. People might think that I'm crazy, but it's some experience that I would like to go through, at least I would learn something useful from it.
I guess I missed a lot of stuff, heard that SBG had 150 fresh Pine trees all around the gardens (it's the 150th Anniversary if some might not know), and I was most of the time lazy to leave my house and go down to take a look. Well, I was sick right after I POP. Till my birthday.
So I had a few meetups here and there, not much though, and I went to look for Nisa. Glad that she's still doing fine, ever bubbly, hahaha. Others, I guess they are doing fine, from either reading their blogs or chatting with them online. The meeting is taking forever to happen, hahah it's nobody's fault when everyone's schedule is packed, and the guys booking in.
Ohh well, I shall stop here for now. My right knee hurts like crap, is it the weather? D:

Mucuna bennettii
Mucuna bennettii (Red Jade Vine), a vine with pendulous red showy flowers. Something like Strongylodon macrobotrys (Jade Vine), but its rarer. I came across it in a book about Singapore as a garden city when I was at Harris today. Didnt buy the book though, but the showy flowers somehow caught my attention.
Mucuna bennettii originated from New Guinea but can be grown in the tropics. I cant remember the location of the plant stated inside of the book. I guess it needs an adequate amount of space to grow this woody vine.
I got the pictures from toptropicals.com. :)
So yupps, that's it for now. I can use my computer only to two weeks later as I will be confine for this following weekend due to sit test. So just wanna update abit..
My left thumb feels numb now, hope I dont get any infection from the ET blade cut.zz..
So till now, take care peeps!! The cold weather is coming once again...somehow I wish to go back to my IAP period and start decorating places for Christmas...I missed those times.......

THANK YOU MARK CHOO!
For the Doritis pulcherrima var. alba. (:
For the times we worked together.
Thank you for all the orchid knowledge.
Sorry that you have to put up with my broken English at times,
and my 冷嘲热讽, and my weird temper.
I think I learned more from you than you learned from me,
I think you will forget what I teach you lor. -_-''' Hahahah.
Enjoy your Germany trip (:
And I still got one week to go...zzz.........

Sorry for the lack of updates. I was just plain lazy...Well it has been 6 months since I started working in Ngee Ann as a part time research assistant. I'm glad that I still can get to work on something that I like, if not I would have forgotten everything that I studied in my past 3 years, haha. Soon, it will be my turn to serve the nation. Not really looking forward to it I must say.
Work was ok. Lucky that I am working with Mark. At least I still get to learn new stuff almost everyday. I worked with Iqbal from March to mid April. Then worked with Gloria till end of June. And then Mark joined in June, till now. And XueFen is in the same office with me since mid June! XueFen is the new HLM TSO, to replace Estya. As Estya is pursuing her studies, at NTU. Forgot what course already, hahaha. Some science and bio degree, hahaha. Go read XueFen's blog if you want to know how she is doing.
Work was somewhat similar to my FYP that I did in Year3. So nothing much, but just data and more data every week. I got to do 2 interiorscapes with Mark; Alumni dinner and HLM Fest:Landscape Model Competition. Quite tiring, but good experience. I learned a lot from Dr Koh and Mark. And GardenTech, my duty was on a Sunday! T__T lucky the weather is cool. Hahaha. And I bought two Phalaenopsis, hope they wont die on me -_-''' first time for me to grow something that I bought myself (:
So besides work, we have been helping XueFen also, like cleaning up and stuff. To me I think being a TSO needs to know a lot of stuff and its like preparing for battle everyday. Even after practical, you still got stuff to do, and it keeps on piling no matter how much you clear everday, which I mean paperwork. But it's a good experience, and lucky you got nice people around to help you. I confirm guarantee chop 2 years will be very fast over liao. Hahaha.
On top of work, I am also helping on an outreach programme with my lecturer with Commonwealth Secondary on an eco-pond and hydroponics project. You must be wondering what can I help in the project right? GOOGLE SKETCHUP. Initially I thought I might not touch the program after I graduate, but I guess I spoke too soon -_-''' Teaching them was quite ok, they ask too many questions -______-''' A Sec2 girl even has a FB account!! Unbelievable man, when the kids see me walking near them, I can see them pressing Alt+Tab to switch away from the browser to Sketchup. -.-''' They thought I cant read the words on the taskbar which says "Facebook | Home" hahaha. Whilst I am involved in the outreach programme, Mark is working on another project on Vertical Green on a wall behind a bus stop near NgeeAnn. NP's principal wanted it. HOHOHO.
He doesnt like Sketchupmuch alot. Much was an understatement. I really felt the moody aura exuding from him. It was a Monday morning, and XueFen and I heard him whining away. Seriously, for the whole morning, the office was dead quiet with occasional whinings, with a frown on his face. Hahaha.
And we took part in a run too! Project Nutz. The event name somewhat sounds familiar to me, but we never actually really take notice of it. So it's a relay run, with 7 runners in a team. I was the last member -_-''' and Mark was the first runner in my team. Hahah, our team made it to the 4th in the Staff catergory! Hahaha, first time in my life I won a sports medal -_-''' I never actually take part in any sports event in my primary and secondary school life, so somehow I felt happy about it (: After the run, I couldnt feel my legs -.-!!!
I still not quite sure how my future will looked like, I dont know what am I going to study. Before that, I definitely have to work. If not who's gonna pay for my fees? Just thinking of it makes me lethargic. How long do I have to work? Where am I going to work? By then I am already 24 25? Or even older...After 2 years of serving the nation will I forget what I learned? Hais...
Ok pictures.
Ok I shall stop here now and update another time. Too much words already, even for me.

So tired to type in full sentences. Maybe another design coming up.
Alright, need to get back to my Photoshop.zzz.
- I was in the MRT, and a kid was screaming, but I somehow felt happy about it. It was screams of happiness, and blissfulness. His mother was tickling him. Somehow it's heartwarming, on a cold rainy day....
- Work! Tiring. But I still get to slack sometimes, and it's considered more compared to my previous research project. Hahaha.
- Ipod Touch (:
- I wanna go shopping :(
- I need to sleep! :((
- I want to run!shiok weather to run!! :))
- I wish, I would know some stuff, still.
Alright, need to get back to my Photoshop.zzz.

Echoes unheard.
I have changed to keep quiet at times.
I realized my words hurt people sometimes.
Which in turn hurts myself the most.
I am not melancholic, but I wanted to type it this way.
I dare not speak, and dare not show.
And people thought I am putting a show.
It's the fear that I've got, and the echoes I heard,
That makes me lonely in this walk.
HAHAHA, ok that was lame. Was trying to act emo for awhile, nyeh. I got a big crater in my mouth, and it hurts! like always.
Run to SBG was great, now my legs are aching. This is the first time, I went to SBG without a transportation, with..only my legs! Not ideal to run in the late afternoon sun, 6km and I am baked by the time I reached SBG. =X

Talk about pictures, that was more than enough for me. Big screen ehh!? Muahahahaha. But I am done with selecting the pictures for printing. (Told you Nisa, I am efficient!! =P)
Work are meant to be done during work hours, since I am kind soul who will keep quiet and does not claim any OT while doing work after working hours, I have to stop working so hard.
Life was great, occasional runs, a work though sometimes I wasn't quite sure what I am doing, but it was fun, cos of Estya with her lame talks(I dont quite get it most of the time) and a new temporary TSO who is comparable to one of my friends, so lame -_-''' guess who I am talking about.hahaha. But it never ended a day without a smile.
Went jogging/running for consecutive days! 6 in stadium and one outside with QianYi. SHIOK MAN. BBDC to Jurong Point..7km I think, she said it's not accurate..so..around there I guess? I didnt stop, except at traffic lights. FUN. GO RUN AGAIN SOON OK!? Hahaha.
And today, knowing that there were people at the LSCT garden after I helped them moved some tree over there, I decided to drop by after work. Yes, after 5pm, hahaha. Chit chats and laughing at why I got C or C+ and never B's or A's for Mr Saiful's modules, he said his standards was too high. Now then you realize ar? hahaha.
LEMONGRASS, I like the smell!!! Like the Honey lemon sweet that I liked.hahahah. Mr Saiful "harvested" them from Loy's, Nisa's and Mel's FYP. Hahaha,COOL RIGHT?! The plant is super big now.haha.
They are trying to revamp(i think so) the garden. I like watering the plants there, but I can really take a long time. I tried once, and I took almost 1.5 hours. HAHAHAH. Somehow,it's more peaceful for me...than facing the computer..or whatever...
Said and unsaid...
Head hurts, to the back of my eyes.
Weather? Or tireness........?

I like the colors.
Auto-colored(Picasa3) of course,my camera doesnt do wonders like this.
A tree that I dont know the name..
Maybe it's sick...
Or its characteristics....

I see no point in pruning a tree into this..
I find it an eyesore..spare some thought will ya pruners?
I think it's taller than 10metres..
Maybe it will survive..
Again, my knowledge is not that vast, it's an unknown tree to me.
The run continues...

The weather is crazy or maybe...
It is angry at how humans are exploiting nature,
taking everything for granted...
Angry at the numbers of cars on the roads nowadays
as compared to last time...
Angry at despite the hot weather that it gave,
the aircon is still cooler in offices, giving a little comfort to users.
It was too close a comfort for me, (Too close for comfort, McFly)
the exposure of the extreme temperatures is giving me a spilt headache,
and a feverish feel.
Works piling up on me, someone is still waiting for my design.
Shows yet to watch, games just started and yet to continue.
Neverending games on FB...(RC!!)
and my pay may not come in as stated...
I am tired, I wish I can sleep for a long long time............

This one will be a give away. Nice leaf!
Both are from the Araceae family.
Make a guess?

//edit, 15th April 18:15PM
why no one guess.zzz.
First one is Spathiphyllum 'Sensation'. It is the biggest of all the Spathiphyllum species, and Dr Koh has them planted in the circular flowerbed outside Emart. Heh. Some parts of the plants are poisonous when ingested.
AND. Spathiphyllums (Peace lilies) has the ability to purify the air by removing toxins in an indoor environment.
Second is Alocasia 'Hilo Beauty'
A hybrid. Some say it doesn't flower. Who knows.

Designed this long ago, yea. I dont think I mentioned this,
did this during the most havoc period of the last academic semester.
Ya, those who knew about this, saw my name in the NP Tribune. Heh.
This won the 2nd prize, a $50 voucher which I did not get to use it in the end and it expired.
1st prize was a 4gb iPod nano. -_-''' hahah.

ARTOCAARRRPUUUSSS!!
Artocarpus is the genus for the tropical fruits, Jackfruit and Chempedak(or Cempedak)!
And only till today, then I know that Jackfruit and Chempedak are two different fruits. Dang, stupid me.HAHAHA.
Jackfruit is Artocarpus heterophyllus
Chempedak is Artocarpus integer
I learned something new today!
And...they are heaty,dont eat so much..which I did today..heh,pimples coming I suppose..=X
P.S.How do you propagate Chempedak if the seeds are non-viable? Guess guess!

Well, school has ended.
Dinner and Dance was great. I especially enjoyed the setup part. It was fun to go through and do something that the course I studied specialized in. I really didn't like to do interiorscaping, I did once, yes just ONCE is enough during my attachment. A 100m long corridor outside Suntec City Level 6 Expo Hall, yes I had nightmares. Seriously, doing it ALONE was sucky. It's like forcing me to jump down the 6th floor. -_-'''
On the contrary, this one was enjoyable and enriching. Working with Jane, Loy, Alisa was great. I think Jane did a great job coordinating, hahaha. Project Manager for D&D leh!! All the plant decor done by HLM students LEH!! Hahaha. I learned a lot from the others, it was better to work with people who understand the HLM-language,hahaha. One word; F-U-N.
It started with my fifth choice, only a little interest in the course, and zero-knowledge in plants, or maybe only xylem and phloem. From 1st year to 2nd and subsequently the 3rd year, my interest slowly built up. Ups and downs, I sailed through, with my friends. Thanks to all those..who....knew.........ya.fill in the blanks. -_-''' I made friends, BEST FRIENDS!!! DDLT ROCKS!!! =DD I will never forget them, and I loved them very much. Test me ok, I will guarantee I can say their phone numbers without the need of the phonebook! HAHAHAHA.
Ok spare me from those mushy mushy stuff, I will just keep hitting the backspace key after typing a mushy sentence. Hahaha.
Alright signing off! (: I am tired already...
P.S. Outing soon ehh, DDLTs. Hahaha.
edit//
My bad, for leaving other classmates out. Some I hardly talk to them, some were really good in their studies that somehow really motivated me to keep on going. It was pleasant to know all of them too! (: If not, I would never find a running kaki a.k.a QianYi. Hohoho.
AND AND. I met someone who looked like me! BROTHERRRRRR!!! Hahaha, that is WenXiang. Hahaha, super funny when a lot of people asked whether we are brothers, cos we somehow looked alike. HEH.
